What are the most commonly asked questions about Boudoir Photography?

Boudoir photography is FINALLY catching on in the UK and I have seen a massive increase in women looking to empower and discover their own self love! Boudoir is one of the most expressive forms (in my opinion) of finding your inner and individual femininity. So like any good photographer, I have taken it upon myself to answer some of your most frequently asked questions.

1) What is Boudoir Photography?

This answer will change for every photographer/client! Most will tell you that a Boudoir photoshoot is a photoshoot in your underwear or in some instances nude. For me, boudoir is so much more than that, it's a true expression of a women's individual god-given femininity. It's usually a once in a lifetime experience to really embrace yourself as you are.

2) I don't know how to pose!

That is absolutely fine, because you know who does know how to pose? MOI! You are in safe hands with me, I will guide you through every pose, make small adjustments to suit you and boom! Instant gorgeous-ness. Most women who come to me have never been professionally photographed before, but there's a reason you came to a professional right?

3) What should I wear for my photoshoot?

There is no hard and fast rule here! I always say a boudoir photoshoot is the most PERFECT reason for a shopping trip. I am on hand for all of my clients and will assist you with clothing choices, but I would always so go over quality (IE pieces that fit you beautifully) than quantity!

I would also say don't bring those trusty oldies from the back of your underwear drawer, you know what I mean, the well loved undies that should have been binned 5 years ago but you keep them because they've grown with you and they feel like a comfort blanket.

Also! Personality pieces are key! Whether it's your favourite leather jacket, your spouses favourite shirt, body jewellery or perhaps hobby related items.

4) Will you share my images online?

Absolutely not! Unless you give me express written permission, I will not share any of your images. There is a section on my contract that discusses a "full model release" or a "partial/anonymous model release."

The difference being that partial mode releases only include images that do not include your face. I know a few of the women who have consented to this have been thrilled at their images being online, with the slightly cheeky feeling that nobody knows it's them!

5) Can I bring someone with me to my shoot?

I allow a friend to come with you to hair and make up for a little moral support, but after that they will be asked to leave, mainly because my studio space is very intimate and I use all of the space! If you have booked with me, you will know exactly what I mean.

6) How much does a boudoir photoshoot cost?

It is important to do your research when wanting to book your Boudoir shoot! My session fee for your shoot is £95.00, this is solely for your photoshoot with me. You also have the option to add on hair and make up.

After your shoot, you will be invited back for your viewing session, digital packages start from £199 and go up to £545.

I do also offer payment plans for my packages too!

7) What can I expect from my photoshoot?

I always plan my sessions to be super laid back and fun! I know full well that these shoots are incredibly intimate and I appreciate your vulnerability with me. You will be welcomed by me and my glam team, if you choose to book on with them. We will pump the studio full of music and enjoy a prep session full of chat and laughter, find out more about each other.

During your session it is easy to be nervous, but I am here to walk you through everything! I will continue to have light conversation with you while we are moving through poses together, in my previous shoots we have spent a lot of time laughing!

I will very clearly ask you any time I ask to rearrange straps or hair etc. I want you to feel totally comfortable with me and I believe that continuously keeping our communication open throughout the session, really helps with that.
